| About Michael Franz | ||
| Michael has been with the Washington SBDC since 1998 as an associate faculty member with Washington State University. He serves the Seattle area from an office in downtown Seattle, and is co-located with WSU West. Michael's activities include business counseling, mentoring, and participation in programs that support the business community. He was honored as the Washington SBDC Star Performer in 1999 and 2007, and as an Association of SBDC's State Star in 2001 and 2007. Michael holds an MBA with concentration in Operations Research and a BSE degree in Engineering from the University of Michigan. He has over 30 years of career experience in the fields of engineering and business management. This includes fast growth, startup, and mature business environments with both large and small firms. He has business ownership experience, and has performed many corporate roles: project manager, financial manager, vp and general manager, and the major officer positions on boards of directors. During this time, he gained expertise in professional consulting, project management, product development, engineering, executive and financial management, and entrepreneurism. Areas of Specialization: Business counseling and coaching for entrepreneurs and management teams. Specialization with companies in technology, professional services, and research and development. Areas of specialization are ebusiness, ecommerce, product development and commercialization, management information systems, equity capital, and business planning. |
